Thank You for Giving…

From all our residents, our staff, and our board of directors of Soul’s Harbor, we would like to extend a great big THANK YOU to all of you who so generously donated to our cause on North Texas Giving Day. We would also like to thank Communities Foundation of Texas for covering all transaction and technology fees.

We fell just short of our goal, but we still managed to raise $14,000! And that total was matched by a very generous anonymous donor! And that’s all thanks to dedicated and generous donors like you! So, thank you again from everyone here at Soul’s Harbor.

Your donations are being used helping homeless men get the best substance abuse treatment we can provide! God has His hand over Soul’s Harbor, and He moves through you, too.

There’s no place like Parkland HOMES

If you are not familiar, Parkland has a mobile hospital van fleet, HOMES (Homeless Outreach Medical Services) that services the greater Dallas area. Their HOMES unit is a godsend to us here at Soul’s Harbor. We have close to 80 residents here at Soul’s Harbor, and we have limited means of transporting all 80 men. Plus, Parkland Hospital is a 35-minute drive without traffic. Sending our residents on the DART rail to Parkland can also present unneeded temptation for men new in their sobriety. Soul’s Harbor is exactly the kind of place the HOMES unit was created for. So, we were frustrated when the HOMES unit couldn’t make it out to Soul’s Harbor earlier this year. But thanks to God, THEY’RE BACK!

Despite the challenges of getting here with the low-lying tree limbs and Wi-Fi connectivity issues in our pastoral setting, Parkland HOMES continues to serve our men the finest medical care right from our own driveway. We cannot thank the HOMES unit and their staff enough!
