My Family Member is an Addict

One of the many telephone calls we receive from parents, wives, sisters and brothers is – “my family member is an addict or alcoholic and what can I do”? We created an informative 15 minute YouTube video that explains what to do.

Of course, this video is not gender-specific or just for family members. So, if you are close to someone that is an addict or alcoholic, this video explains what you need to do. FYI, there are many other YouTube recovery videos on our website that you may be interested in. Please feel free to share any of these YouTube videos.

Anger Management…

We just completed a 12 week Anger Management class at Soul’s Harbor for our homeless residents. I want to thank our partner, Integrated Psychotherapeutic Services (IPS) Recovery who provided this much needed class.

We now have many segments to our holistic approach to recovery:

Yoga
Cognitive Approach to Recovery
AA / NA
Celebrate Recovery
Job Skills Transfer
Cross Fit
Bible Study
Financial Management
Relationship Management
Mental Wellness with Therapist and Psychiatrist
Group Therapy

We continue to add new classes to our 6-month holistic program. Because of our holistic program, we are recognized in Texas as a leader in substance abuse recovery for homeless men.

We need your help…

Soul’s Harbor homeless shelter is supported solely by our four thrift stores. You can donate your household items via phone (972-286-1940) or our “Household Donation Request Form” page. We also take automobiles “Vehicle Donation Request Form“. So if you have old clothes, furniture, appliances, household items, or even a car to donate to Soul’s Harbor, either fill out our online form or call our dispatch office at 972-286-1940. Our dispatch office is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

We are sustained solely through our four thrift store sales. We rely on your donated items to support our shelter. At Soul’s Harbor, we would like to thank all our customers that donate their items and also our thrift store customers. Because without our customers, there would be no Soul’s Harbor.

Thank you and God Bless.
