Thank You, North Texas Giving Day donors and the Sturgis Foundation!!
A BIG “Soul’s Harbor” Thank You to all the donors that contributed to Soul’s Harbor on North Texas Giving Day last month. We exceeded our goal this year and will be using some of those monies for our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Also, another “BIG” Thank You to the Sturgis Foundation who gave us $10,000 toward the purchase of a box truck. Remember, if you cannot donate money, please donate your furniture, appliances, clothes and household items to Soul’s Harbor.
Mr. Green Jeans
Pictured above is our oldest resident – Gary. He came to Soul’s Harbor in May of this year from the Texas correctional system. Gary loves being outdoors even when it is over 100 degrees. Naturally, he became our landscaper and maintains our 3+ acre property during his stay here at Soul’s Harbor. This fall, we asked him if he would be interested in setting up our winter garden. He was ecstatic. After a couple of trips to Home Depot, Gary planted us cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, tomato and squash. By Thanksgiving, we should be enjoying the “vegetables” of Gary’s labor. Thank you, Gary, for all you do.
Remember, when you are cleaning out your attic, call us!
